Founded by David and Andrew Shaw, Voxpopmusic has undergone many changes since its birth in June 1999.

From before the days of broadband, websites and downloads the shop sold just about every musical style on every format, offering a friendly environment amongst the many specialist
shops in Manchester’s “Vinyl Valley”. Times change, in many ways for the better, and the brothers love of soul, funk, jazz and underground disco, has spiraled outwards introducing many new genres including reggae, punk, Manchester classics, breaks & beats and much, much more.

So the new look Voxpopmusic has a clearly defined purpose: source and sell music and memorabilia from the past 40 years of relevance to today’s music lovers, whoever they are. We sell records for people on an agency basis. This means that we are not restricted in what we can offer and try our best to have the widest selection of used music and memorabilia possible. As you have seen the website has grown as well and now allows us to add pictures and sound samples on selected tunes. We are constantly working to make things as complete as time allows. We add hundreds of new titles daily and where possible include additional information such as a brief description, country of origin, producers, year, etc. For us the music is important enough to go that little bit further.

Collectors and DJ’s are well catered for in the shop (Located in the Heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter) by keenly priced in-demand tunes, clearly labeled for content and condition, and there’s plenty of listening posts to check for yourself if you need to. The shop also stocks selected new releases plus numerous re-issues along with all the originals we can get our hands on.
